The selectee will serve as a General Engineer, Architect or Community Planner and perform program management and/or project identification and development, with emphasis on projects involving work derived from the facility condition assessment database and new or existing public space or facilities in the master plan.

The Architect of the Capitol, Office of Safety and Code Compliance, Fire Marshal Division is seeking a reliable and detail oriented Fire Protection Engineer to review and provide recommendations for the design, construction and/or modification of fire protection systems, equipment, assemblies for buildings under the jurisdiction of the Architect of the Capitol.

The selectee is responsible for project management, with emphasis on projects involving new or existing facilities and infrastructure systems and provides overall life-cycle project management with responsibility to provide expertise, coordination, oversight and direction for multiple projects throughout the agency.

Candidates must have journey level experience in commercial or industrial projects involving carpentry and wood crafting skills. The incumbent operates a forklift to transport compressed bales of cardboard, magazines, newspapers, books, bottles and materials compressed by a baling machine. The incumbent also receives incoming vendor shipments and assists with disposal of waste materials such as cans and recyclable metals as well as ensures committee rooms and other areas where access is restricted to day operations are cleaned.

Responsible for administering programs in exercise, general nutrition, stress management, and other preventive health measures to Members of Congress. The AOC seeks temporary wood crafters for the upcoming 119th Congressional Moves. Wood Crafters will begin November 2024 and terminate at the conclusion of the project. The selectees will serve as journey level Plasterers and perform standard painting tasks when necessary.

The House Office Buildings, Painting Branch seeks temporary painters for the upcoming 119th Congressional Transitions. Temporary painters will begin approximately November 2024 and terminate at the conclusion of the project. Since office moves are scheduled six days a week, overtime may be required and will be mandatory. Painters use standard methods and special finishing techniques to perform coating work on furnishings and buildings.

The selectee manages building construction, renovation and/or infrastructure projects and is responsible for life-cycle project supervision, providing expertise, coordination, oversight and direction for multiple projects throughout the agency.
